This is atmospheric and gripping from the start, with Christine (Ncole Kidman) waking up next to husband Ben (Colin Firth) but with no memory of anything. At the end of each day her memories are erased and she's back to square one. Except Christine has started working on trying uncover her memories with therapist Dr Nash (Mark Strong). Every day he rings and instructs her where she'll find an ongoing video diary that she has been keeping but must keep secret from husband Ben. Christine is scared and vulnerable, and through the twists, turns and snippets of memory that start breaking through, she has to try to work out who she can trust....

I haven't read any of the books so wasn't sure what to expect. It's an interesting concept - society divided into groups (factions) according to dominant personal traits. At the age of 16, everyone undergoes a test which reveals faction they truly belong to. A few don't fit into any group as they have qualities of all the factions. These people are known are divergents and Tris our heroine is one but must keep it quiet. In the faction she chooses she finds a mentor and protector in the mysterious (and very good looking) Four.

I found the film a bit slow to begin with but enjoyed it when I got into it. You certainly don't need to have read the book to enjoy it. I was concerned it… Read more

As someone who watches 'Catfish: The TV Show' I was interested to see this as it's Nev's story.It's gripping, thought provoking and at times disturbing. It's also very sad, it shows how manipulative these 'Catfish' can be and the damage that can be done through their deceit.

Many people meet online now (often successfully - I know of married couples who are very happy) but pretending to be someone you're not is never going to end well. A lot of people have self esteem issues, and spending time online may be attractive to those who are isolated yet lack confidence to mix in the 'real' world.
