I feel hugely privileged to have had a workshop with Brian Astbury, and had the opportunity to use his techniques first-hand. Trusting the Actor is a glorious read, not merely because it is a practical workbook of techniques, but also because it is a study of acting and of theatre, across many decades.
In his writing Brian exudes passion for theatre and his excitement and love for it pours across the pages. Although I was primarily interested in his writing as a sort of how-to of acting, it is so much more than that.
