Having watched and enjoyed the movie the next step was to read the book and I was not disappointed. It was great, a thoroughly enjoyable read. I could not put it down. Very sad, very funny and very entertaining. Top marks Mr McCourt.

I bought this on the back of Richard and Judy's recomendation but I was dissapointed. As all reviewers have said the idea was very good, but I am afraid that is as far as it went. It was a real shame such a good idea was wasted. I did enjoy bits of it here and there but on the whole I found the characters boring and unlikeable and the plot very predictable. What I found most annoying and irritating was Holly and her friends very immature behaviour considering they were supposed to be 30 year olds, especially their childish antics on their nights out. Teenage girls would probably love it, but I would not recommend it for anyone over 18. I do think Ms Aherne has potential. Given a bit… Read more
