Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings by Christopher Moore
Stumbled upon this book by chance and didn't know what to expect, certainly didn't expect to find it so delightful, thought provoking and humorous. Fantastic revelation about why the protagonists wife is a lesbian. Had me laughing out loud for what seemed like hours. Had to put the book down to recover from that. My only criticism would be that I didn't feel the author managed to get the most out of the underwater world that he created.

The absolute knock out best of the Smitherd bunch in my mind. So unbelievably thought provoking, humorous, and genuinely frightening. The episode with the train had my belly in knots. An absolute belter. I am utterly distraught that it is over.

You have to tip your hat to Luke Smitherd for having control over a headspace necessary to write a plot this thick. What an incredibly well presented story. Thank you Luke. Please keep the stories coming.

P.S I would be very keen to know where the name of the book came from. I noticed it used in the story but I am intrigued.
