After the last two relatively poor books, I was expecting a tepid ending. Exactly what we got.

I did feel this book (ending aside) was quite a bit better than the last two. I enjoyed a lot of it, but I did dislike a large part of it too. What I do not like about the ending is how open and un-finale-like it was.

I really can't say much about the book without trashing it and I really don't want to resort to that so I'm not going to bother, so to sum up, if you're looking for a great finale then you will be disappointed. I have been watching True Blood (huge fan of the books too) from the start and had always ranked it high among my favourite shows, but this season was a major step down.

Where do I start? Too many characters we really don't care about or are not important to the overall plot. Biggest example would be Terry's storyline. I really didn't care what the outcome of this was and over the course of the season I thought it may have some bigger payoff and tie in to the overall storyline, but no. Previous seasons did a great job with the secondary characters fitting into the bigger picture and was one of my favourite things about the show but this season seemed to forget about that.
