This is an excellent book and should be compulsory reading for every climate scientist and policy maker and politician concerned with climate change. Darwall sets out the historical development of the idea of global warming and of the science that has provided the evidence for it. He does this with an analytical detatchment and objectivity which is seldom seen, particularly in the climate change debate. Darwall sets out complex arguments about the history and philosophy of science, the statistical analysis of climate change data, and the arcane protocols and procedures governing summit meetings of global leaders, in a clear and highly accessible style.
