Almost a Hero by Ken McCoy
Almost a Hero by Ken McCoy
I chose 'almost a hero' because I enjoy stories about the 2nd world war, but that are not too 'heavy'. From the reviews I had read in various publications it sounded just up my street and I wasn't disappointed. The characters were likeable and believable, with a feisty little heroine. I hadn't read any of Ken McCoy before but I look forward to reading more in the future.
Poppies at the Well - a Welsh Ghost Story by Catrin Collier
2.0 out of 5 stars poppies at the well, 11 Mar 2014
I am not really a "short story" person so feel I'm not really able to review this objectively. I thought I would try some, for a change, but didn't enjoy it and felt there wasn't enough substance, but then, that's what is to be expected with short stories.
Far From Home by Lyn Andrews
Far From Home by Lyn Andrews
4.0 out of 5 stars Far From Home, 11 Mar 2014
I chose a 4 star rating for Far From Home because I didn't think it was one of Lyn Andrews best stories. at times the "plot" seemed a bit thin and rushed, as if the author couldn't wait to get it finished.
