This really isn't an album i thought i'd ever get into. I had heard of these guys but the whole 2 piece band thing made me think of the White Stripes; who i really don't like. So that was an obstacle i'd have to overcome to keep a clear mind when listening to this album. Also im a bit of a metalhead; favourite bands being Slayer, Slipknot, Tool etc but i do love my southern blues....which i guess is why i love this album. The sheer fact that if you didnt know there were 2 guys in this band you'd never be able to guess. There's just so much going at at once, which is where i think the White Stripes fail, to me it's very obvious there is 2 people there. You've got guitar, drums, vocals and a… Read more

So how long has it been? Just over 4 years since Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses? It's a bloody long time and you'd really hope after all that time of waiting there would be a killer album at the end of it waiting for you. And that is exactly what you get from Slipknot here. For me Slipknot have always been a band who have delivered the goods. So many bands *cough* *metallica* *cough* build up so much hype which ultimately ends up exploding in their faces and in turn overshadowing their finished product. Not here.

Straight from the git-go all i can think about is Slayer. Every single song has a part where i go "Whoa! That sounds like Slayer". The riffing and soloing is so… Read more

Now isn't this exciting? The band backstage preparing for war. Joey being sick and shawn doing his stretches are just some of the activitys happening before us. The opening song is "people=shit" which is played incredibly well and proves to be a perfect opening song for the 'knot. This is followed by "liberate" and "left behind", a song that should be more than femiliar to you all now. One of the best things about this dvd has to be joeys drum solo. The mans a genious!! I love that guy! There is no doubt that he has to be one of the best drummers ever in the metal industry. Joey is also involved in the sound check, doing his last minute practice, like he needs it! It is also worth watching… Read more
