I bought this as I was having recurring problems with air getting into my front Shimano Deore m596 brake, and when pushing back the calliper pistons I'd noticed mineral oil seeping from around the join on the lever's reservoir, suggesting the seal there was at fault.

Replacing the "separator unit" has reduced (not cured) the problem, and improved the sealling. This rendered them useless for the journey, which was… Read more
Shimano Cassette Xt M770 11/34T 9SPD - Silver Shimano

1. Replacing some of the steel with aluminium saves a few grams of weight (only really important if you're a serious racer, interested in "marginal gains")
2. The spider distributes the force of the biggest sprockets over a larger area, helping to prevent them from "cutting in" to an aluminium freehub body (as used by Hope Hubs, amongst others)

This second… Read more
