Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous stories in this series, I greatly looked forward to this one. Sadly I was badly disappointed - in fact doubly so, since I ordered 2 copies in error.
While historically, Dr. Sidebottom has fullfilled his obligations insofar as the historical nature and theme, he has badly let down his fans with respect to the adventure and storyline and ended the book far short of his normal abilities. During my reading I was finding this volume hard going and desperate to enter the 'thrilling' phase. I finally drew the conclusions that all the best bits were at the end - only to find 45 pages of Index plus an extra 10 blank ones instead.
