I'd say so. I can see where people come from with "dull, slow, boring", but in my experience that is only against the AI. With human players the game gets going within minutes, even on the largest map, and they can really put pressure on.

I only have a mediocre computer, but all settings are set to high. The secret is to keep shadows off altogether, as generating shadows for so many units and buildings can keep down the frame rates.

1.0 out of 5 stars C&C:Generals 2, 23 April 2007
When Westwood was taken down they should have stopped making the C&C games. This game is nothing more than the earlier game Generals (it even uses the same engine), with a few new units. There is little strategy to employ at all here, just "build as many units and move them toward the enemy as you can to win". Not only this, but they try to win you over with Hollywood actors in the mission cutscenes, which have a real "B" movie cheesyness to them. I was really disappointed with this one.

There are far better games out there to play, Notably Supreme Commander and the earlier C&C games.

It has many game modes, and many maps, including the AT-AT attack on Hoth, with snowspeeders included, and the interior of the Tantive IV, Leias ship from Epsiode VI.

Unfortunately, they decided to cut a lot out of this game. Many maps are missing, and the main story-driven campaign is gone altogether, so no 501st legion attacking the Jedi Temple on Coruscant or Death Star maps. They also removed… Read more
