ĎIt is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.í
- Joseph Campbell

I met Peter Skillen for the first time in 2006 while attending a course with martial arts expert Dave Turton. The seminar was organised by Peterís brother John Skillen in the John Skillenís Martial Arts Centre in Loughborough. After being introduced to Peter by John, Peter was kind enough to partner up with me during the seminar and he mentored me through the techniques as shown. A Walk in the Park

Another short story written by Stuart Williams.

Like his other book 'flower and the bee' the story contains a metaphor and acts like a vehicle to bring across various bits of wisdom. It's about fear and how the object of our fear is often bigger and seems more dangerous in our mind than the object we are afraid of. It's also about how our life is enriched after overcoming the fear.

I also love the illustrations, paintings which add to the feeling the words bring.

Always having had a vivid imagination I recognized myself in this story and enjoyed reading it a lot!

Conclusion; another great story for young and old to… Read more

The Flower & The Bee

This short story is written by Stuart Williams. As a gardener it's not surprising that Stuart writes about the world he finds himself in daily.

At first glance it looks like a story for children but reading it I discovered it was far from that. It's a beautiful story, a metaphor about time, hesitation, acting, and service. It's written in an easy to understand way using a rich visual language. Reading it I was taken on an emotional journey.

I also love the illustrations, simple, colourful and beautiful.

Conclusion; a great story for young and old, a vehicle which carries across important life lessons!
