The I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE Remake was one of the very rare examples of remakes actually being superior to the original. After horrible remakes of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, FRIDAY THE 13TH and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and recently MANIAC I really had my doubts.
As it turned out I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE was a GREAT movie with a superb lead.
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 is even BETTER. Actress Jemma Dallender gives a striking performance (if not the best in any horror film up to date) and Hollywood actresses can learn a lot from her. She makes the most degrading scenes look real and not acted and by the time she gets her revenge the audience will doubtlessly be 200 % on her side. The… Read more

Yes, DEATH WISH 2 is still cut. Various versions in Europe have been UNcut (including the Dutch Tri-Star DVD version which I own). If you want the UNcut version of DEATH WISH 2, Tri-Star holds the rights to the UNRATED (UNcut) version, so ANY Tri-Star version (except the Tri-Star UK version - thanks to the BBFC) are UNcut - while the MGM versions (United States, Germany) are the heavily cut R Rated print. Personally I can live with the cuts. I've seen movies that were butchered far worse for the R rating.

DEATH WISH 1 - which also was greatly mistreated in the UK and din't see a release on home entertainment until I believe 1999 / 2000 gets to be seen in its full glory, so do… Read more

A mohammadanian convert (Steven Arthur Younger) has nuclear bombs planted in several cities. As he will not tell the FBI where the bombs are at, they bring in "H" played by Samuel L. Jackson, to "interrogate" the terrorist.
So far so good.

What utterly ruins this movie is the political correctness:
The perpetrator is a mohammadanian (convert), but not an Arab, not a black, no he's white. We couldn't have an Arab mohammadanian as a perperator, the mohammadanian world would riot and hate us! So we sacrifice reality for political correctness.
One of the FBI agents (Carrie Ann Moss) defends the koran "it's a good book, I read it". Either she's an airhead (which she… Read more
