Radiohead - The Best Of [DVD] [2008] DVD ~ Radiohead

5.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD, 31 Aug 2008
Everyone reviewing this seems to be focusing on the sell-out factor and not THE ACTUAL ITEM. This isnt a radiohead approved release since they parted ways with capitol. All that beside the point it is still a staggeringly beautiful set of songs and visuals. If your a fan of radiohead, you need this. It is a corporate money grab, but its still nice to have all the old videos in one place and the music is still awesome. Radiohead still gets paid if you buy this.

Nick Holmes & Grag Mackintosh Linernotes (from the booklet):

The Enemy (from the album In Requiem, 2007)
Nick: This song was written with a live performance in mind, we also shot a video in the Ukraine for this track. Despite its grim subject, I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at a video shoot, watching the other guys getting shot was really funny.

Nick: If silence was a colour I guess it would be grey, but then there was the dilemma how to spell it, American or English... the agony of choise.

Erased (from the album Symbol of Life, 2002)
Nick: We recorded the video for this song in an… Read more

Although all of the concert footage can be seen on other DVD's, the insight from the surviving members of the band make this film worth buying. The band members speak about individual songs and also build up each preformance with behind the scenes stories concerning each show. An excellent the Doors video.
The unique thing about this DVD is that you get to see the band change before your eyes. The first song recorded at a Canadian TV show type setting shows 'The Doors' doing probably the most outstanding version of "The End" ever put to audio/video ever. Even though the Oedipal section is eliminated it is absolutely mind blowing (To Say The Least). Morrison is steaming. This… Read more
