I've been a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series since DW2 and have played most of the main series and some of the Empires and Legends expansions.
DW8 is the most definitive version so far and incorporates the best aspects of several of the previous titles whilst also bringing a few new fresh changes with it.
The new Ambition mode is a very welcome adition and serves to break up the play between the main story mode. Also the return of Rage mode from DW5 is great and really helps make the combo's fly.

I'd heard about this game last year via reports from Japan and instantly became interested in it due to its premise and clear fan service approach.
It is not as tactical or strategical as Fire Emblem Awakening however if you are willing to look past this and have an interest or knowledge of at least some of the dozens of characters, you should enjoy it. This is the type of game that the 3DS was made for.
Ninty has delivered on all fronts with this game. It is incredibly addictive and once your town is up and running there is plenty to do and even though its only been out a short time I've already put quite a lot of hours in.
The game interface is easy to use and understand. The graphics are colourful and the use of 3D is very good.
Easily a must have game if you own a 3DS.
