If you're new to Sabbath and wondering where to start, the answer is right here. They set out their stall on their brilliant debut and everything that we love about them is here.

But most people considering buying this release will already be familiar with the album and to you I say, if you don't have this edition, you should seriously consider acquiring it, it's fabulous. So many remasters are hard, bright and loud as a fake tan, which I really don't like and would think a particularly egregious mistake in the case of the Sabs because their sound is so wonderfully organic and swampy. Electron Nano 9 LED Front Light Electron

This light is very simple and very powerful and very tough and you should very much buy it.

Simple: one position (no flash) and it fixes to the bike with basically a couple of rubber straps. Wasn't convinced by the fixing to be honest, but it's valid - if you get it right (see below).

Powerful: nine LEDs with one united purpose in life - to put your fecking eye out! Seriously, it's like staring into the sun!

Tough: second time I used this light I got the fixing wrong and after about five miles the light bounced out. Took a scratch or two but basically it was unharmed. It's solid aluminium so I think you'd have to really go out of your way to damage it… Read more
Portable Childhoods: Stories by Ellen Klages

This is just a lovely collection. As well as being a master storyteller, and a weaver of deceptively simple prose, Klages manages to induce in the reader a sort of strange, bittersweet, displaced nostalgia for times and places one never knew. (I wish we had a word for it, I bet the Germans do!) Add fresh ideas and engaging, real characters and you have a book to swoon over, a literate page-turner.

I laughed, I cried, I read it in a day. Buy this book.
