Bob The Builder Friction Benny by Born To Play
4.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting play, 30 May 2010
My 3 year old son has had Benny for over a year and hasn't tired of him yet. He really enjoys to play with him at home and in the sandpit. It is a very durable toy for the price. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that Benny is hardly ever featured on the show, Bob the Builder! We've only seen him in 1 episode ever and my son used to anxiously await for his appearance. I would recommend this toy if you've already got at least 1 of the other main characters so your child gets a chance to see them in action on screen.
New Adventures Of Bert & Ernie [DVD]

This is a dvd of a collection of short Bert and Ernie claymation stories. As a viewer of Sesame Street shows from the 1970s and 1980s I found this a little bit odd at first but my 2 year old son loves it. He already loved Bert and Ernie and this is enjoyable modern animation of some true classic characters for his generation. Although the stories are short (about 5 or so minutes long), there are quite a few of them to watch. My son gets sad as each one ends and joyously happy when a new one begins. I would recommend it as a dvd to purchase as I haven't seen the show anywhere on cable here in the UK.
James and Toby (Thomas & Friends)

This is a Thomas & Friends book with a James and Toby story. We have quite a few Thomas books and this is not a particular favourite. On the positive, the pictures are directly from the show and lovely to look at. On the negative, the story has an unsatisfactory ending. Not such a concern for my 2 year old but it makes it less enjoyable for me to read to him! I think it is one to get from the library rather than to purchase.
