5.0 out of 5 stars A fine CD, 1 July 2014
Tony Hatch was the producer for Petula Clark's most commercial era in the 1960s. He wrote classic songs for her such as Downtown and I Know A Place. However, he was a star in his own right through his other production work for his then wife, Jackie Trent, for future Coronation Street actress Sue Nichols and he later wrote the theme from Neighbours. This CD brings together for the first time his best tracks and comes highly recommended
Subculture: The Meaning of Style (New Accents) by Dick Hebdige
5.0 out of 5 stars A classic still, 1 July 2014
This work remains the classic work on British youth culture. A product of the Birmingham School of Cultural Studies, it examines the style as subterfuge of the punk era and has become the basis for most serious evaluation of youth culture ever since. As fresh as ever, if you have not read it for thirty years, it will repay a revisit

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful box set, 1 July 2014
This is a superlative box set that tells a story relatively unknown in the UK, of the formidable and innovative Chicago Vee Jay label, which had the foresight to be the first label in the US to issue Beatles tracks but which also took on numerous other artists who made an impact. The box set offers a comprehensive overview of the label in its peak years and comes highly recommended.
