Make Your Mark: The Drawing Book for Children by Sarah Richardson
5.0 out of 5 stars 8 year old loves it., 2 Oct 2013
I bought this for my 8 year old son who loves drawing. He couldn't put it down, spending hours just reading it. He loves the idea that scribbles can be turned into anything and has made lots of scribble drawings. It's really extended what he is able to do and how he thinks about drawing. Rather than being overly prescriptive like alot of books (e.g. this is how to draw a cat) this book encourages creativity while giving guidance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting, 25 Mar 2013
I bought this set about 10 years ago - it looks slightly different in the picture now, but if the manufacturers have maintained the quality, this was an absolute bargain. I practice yoga almost every day and this mat has lasted amazingly - it's really good quality, thick and non-slip, only slightly worn, and the block is still going strong too, after some pretty heavy use. Compared to other vastly overpriced mats on the market, this is a really good buy. And it comes with a bag which is usually a lot extra. Unfortunately I lost the strap!

When my son started nursery he had great difficulty in saying goodbye and would cry and cling terribly. My son is called William and looks very like the William in this book. He loved it and wanted me to read it to him over and over again, and even took it to bed to look at. The following day when it was time to leave him he turned to me and said "see you later mum" just like William in the book. This lovely book helped him find the courage to cope with a difficult transition. The illustrations are sensitive and the story is exactly right.
