"Henry James," & "Edith Wharton," like our great "E. M. Forster," are very keen obsevers & commentators of manners in prose form of their age. But I must confess to not fully reading "Hudson River Bracketed," yet, I did read the opening chapters some years ago, but I've read its follow up novel "The Gods Arrive," thus the purchase of (HRB). The follow up novel (TG'sA)is very much a European novel, "Wharton," traveled with "James" in Europe extensively.
