This is a beautiful book with fantastic photos. In addition to photos of the garments here are also examples of contemporary paintings, showing how the garments were worn. On the close-ups it is really possible to see the details and admire the skills of craftmen and -women centuries ago.
Unfortunately the publisher has not made it clear that the different techniques have not been treated in the same way. While you are instructed to sew, emboider, and knit as it was done at the time, the diagrams for lacemaking are not in accordance with the photos.
