Curious Chronicles from Sri Lanka by Gavin Anderson

I really enjoyed reading Gavin's account of his travel's around Sri Lanka. His writing has a relaxed style, which fully engaged me; it was like I could hear his voice telling me the story. During the travels, he meets other travels and locals, and while he is honest about other's shortcomings, there are always redeeming characteristics with which Gavin leaves you. I wonder how many of the these participants in the story will read their name in print (or e-print!).

I am not a regular reader of travel books, but this one may encourage me to read more.
The Blue Butterfly by Graham Reed
The Blue Butterfly by Graham Reed
This is a well written adventure story from an author who is obviously familiar and knowledgeable about the area in which it is set. There are wonderful descriptions of the plants and animals, providing a great setting to an adventure that has several surprises along the way.

The story has episodes that are not for the faint-hearted, portraying some of the tragedies of life in Africa at the time; the cruelty and greed of man, and it's implications for the innocent. However, my friend Graham, the author, does carry important themes of loyalty, friendship and freedom, among others, through this gripping story.

Well done and thank you.
