This has to be the most underrated Tull album of all time.It is darker and more brooding than TAAB but no less memorable for it...I don't even find it particularly inaccessible; and as for "weird" well I can think of dozens of albums that are more so; VDGG for example..

So buy it now!

Right I am going to get straight to the point.
Just ignore all the total twaddle talked/written about this album. I have loved it for over 30 years..It has greatness and more to the point some fantastic tracks.Just listen to it and make your own mind up. Do not follow the crowd. And remember..Sabbath had to do something different: you can't just churn out the same stuff year on year..

This album is good. The middle part is very very good: ie tracks from Crazy Nights and Spellbound which are two albums that really need re-releasing as they are as good as any NWOBHM albums. The tracks from the first and fourth albums are not that good- with the notable exception of Love Potion Number 9.
At their best this band really were at the top of the HM tree: I suppose they were never as good pre and post John Sykes.
