Tempting Fate by Jane Green
Tempting Fate by Jane Green
3.0 out of 5 stars Not her best, 23 Oct 2013
I have been a fan of Jane Green for years but reading Tempting Fate I kept forgetting throughout the book who the author was - so alike it was with so many other stories of happy marriages that break down because of a moment of madness. Don't get me wrong, I still finished it in a day and enjoyed parts of it too - I particularly liked how the obsession Gabby developed over her young admirer was portrayed. But... and there is a but... I feel this book was missing the normal Jane Green-edge and like a reviewer before me said, it feels like a shelf-filler.

I am so pleased with this product - works brilliantly and the ability to sear the meat in the same pot you use for the cooker is just great. I have not used anything else since I got this cooker - would highly recommend to anyone!!

I have liked Adele's work in the past but found this book predictable and the characters rather annoying. The only saving grace was Margaret and her plight against dementia - the character was interesting and the subject matter touching. As for Eloise and Sara - best friends - really?? Eloise's perfection and Sara's jealousy got boring even before reaching half way and I found it difficult to care about either one of them. An easy, mindless read - not funny or poignant in any other way apart from Margaret's illness.
