The dark tone of this story is set in the first few pages and is ever-present throughout the book. The characters and their surroundings are described expertly and you become drawn into their world, becoming gripped as their lives begin to unravel. While it takes sometime to get going, when it does its worth the wait so I'd recommend taking the time to get past the slow begin.

A great read, I could hardly put it down.
