I purchased this recording as I was preparing to play the organ continuo part in a performance of Cantata 147. A lot of thought and preparation has gone into this version with some lovely phrasing in the orchestral parts. The solos are dramatically and stylishly performed; especially the bass solos, and the choir sound is assured and well-balanced. Very impressive - I look forward to hearing the other two cantatas as this CD also contains Nos. 148 and 149. Worth the money just for 147!

Some excellent tempii chosen and a very clear recording which supports the well-balanced voices and fine, stylish baroque orchestral playing. Highly recommended.
