In My Own Words:
An artist and writer, living in the north west, Westmer's tastes are eclectic as will be apparent from the diversity of his reviews.

Interests
Philosophy, art, fiction, poetry and children's books are all grist to his mill...and, that reminds him, so are food and drink.

iPad 2 For Dummies (For Dummies (Computers)) by Edward C. Baig
1.0 out of 5 stars You gonna hate this, 29 Oct 2012
I've never come so close to sending something back. This is an utterly frustrating book. It assumes a cheery style which is meant to be user-friendly. Actually, since its written in American rather than English, it often makes it more opaque. I've battled with it to try to get the best out of my iPad (which I love) but chatting to an untechnical friend has been much more use. Does it answer any if my questions? No.

3.0 out of 5 stars A problem of scale, 29 Oct 2012
Very useful if you're travelling west to east. It's weakness is that it changes scale from country to country which makes navigation unnecessarily more difficult.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel by Deborah Moggach

This very easy read (none the worse for that) is edgier than the film. The screen gives the characters a rosy glow they don't all have in the book, but now it's impossible to go back to the book without an awareness of that brilliant cast. So, if you still can, read it before seeing the film and then you'll enjoy the best of each.
