2.0 out of 5 stars What a dissappointment, 21 Oct 2010
I have been waiting with anticipation for the Homemade Home book and had it on pre order from Amazon for a couple of months. I was so excited when it arrived but first impressions were not good. For starters the picture on the cover is not good - Kirstie, you are so much more attractive and natural than this and putting flowers in a vase hardly inspires someone to craft. I am afraid the insides were not what I expected either. it is indeed beautiful with stunning photography and lovely craft makes but it is all the old stuff that was done over a year ago - i had expected something new as well as the old stuff at least and it has none of the Christmas projects in it which is a bit of a shame… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Well I think it's cool, 10 Aug 2010
I think this book is great - really modern and funky with tonnes of ideas, techniques and projects to get your teeth into - just what I need to revitalize my enthusiasm for my sewing machine. I suppose it is not to everyone's tastes but I think it is a real fresh take on sewing.

I met Mandy at the Knitting and Stitching show last weekend and she is amazing. I bought a copy of the is book from her and it is just fab. She has got great style and imagination and despite the title there is plenty for a someone who love's sewing and fabrics to get their teeth into - check out the funky bag projects and the christmas bunting for a really cool yule! Not convinced the cover photo does the book justice at all and with that slightly misleading title (cause you don't have to be a mega quilter at all) it is a bit of a shame as the book is great. Highly recommended.
