First things first; I'm a big fan of the `Emergency' series and I've anticipated this game for longer than you can imagine. After playing Emergency 4 (911: First Responders) I've always fantasized what Emergency 5 would bring: Amazing new missions, more units to control, more actions, more freedom and maybe even a first person mode to get involved? The answer to all of these is no.

Emergency 2012 feels like a huge step backwards in the series; there is less freedom, seemingly less units and less fun. To its credit though; there have been a few features implemented that covered some issues found in Emergency 4; you can now re-direct pedestrians en masse as opposed to one by one… Read more

One issue I do find with the `story' though is that what you're fighting isn't actually stated very clearly, on the case it doesn't once refer to the creatures as Zombies. It's calls them "Mutants", "Creatures", "Monsters" and… Read more

For starters, I commend the developers for including free content such as the soundtrack, map and cards. Although that doesn't particularly seem like much, it's still a nice bonus to a game whereas some other developers would have charged extra.

Initially, the game was a huge letdown for me since during the opening sequence; the narrator was giving a recap of the past events to help familiarize the new players to the story. The letdown was that the narrator got the subtitles wrong. For example, the narrator would say something such as "2012, agent Alexander..." where at the same time, the subtitles would say "2011, agent...", this set my expectations to be low for the game. This… Read more
