Zero Degrees of Empathy by Simon Baron-Cohen
Zero Degrees of Empathy by Simon Baron-Cohen
4.0 out of 5 stars The end of evil..., 5 July 2014
Beautifully written, very clear exposition of the subject with a rational explanation of human 'evil.' If this book gets the readership it deserves, then, with luck, that benighted medieval concept can be consigned to the conceptual dustbin.
Staedtler mars technico leadholder clutch pencil 2&hellip by Staedtler
4.0 out of 5 stars Pencil., 5 July 2014
It's a clutch-pencil. It writes quite nicely, but it's pretty useless for bar-fights or ear cleaning.
The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker
The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker
Hmm. Not terribly original; essentially a second-rate rehash of existentialism, particularly Heidegger's concept of 'being unto death.' The final bullet into this particular corpus has to be his reference to psychoanalysis as a science, with no apparent irony. How this got a Pulitzer is a mystery, unless it was awarded out of sympathy for his widow.
