The mountain of hype preceding this film does it no favours. A lot of key Bond stuff was missing- luxury lifestyles, suave humour, slapstick, gizmos & technical innovation, sexual tension, the international community of spies and worst of all, there were no amazing stunts! What in heaven did they spend all the money on? Blowing up a boring Scottish house? "Inventing" a gun only Bond could use? Craig is fine but the plots needs reinvigoration. I've been hoping Bond would be a female for decades but I guess that is too much to ask. Surely it's time now to give some real insight into spycraft and to choreograph a fight/chase scene that develops and takes the breath away? The old adage to start… Read more

This is one of the more important and passionate books about the American Southwest. Valerie Kuletz here has produced a serious work, making points that impact upon all our lives and futures.

The two leads are very lovely but you have to go to the gag reel to see them be their truly witty selves. Matt Bomer is clearly gay and intensely beautiful- and probably destined to be a mega star. He also comes across as a balanced and intelligent, funny, kind person. Tim De Kay is also smoulderingly attractive- and very funny. Question is, can the writing on White Collar match their star qualities? Of course not, but they are so charming who cares? Alas, the writers have included the usual cast of subaltern co-stars (stick thin love interests, lesbian competent FBI colleague, plodding non-white male FBI colleague)- if only their characters ever got developed it'd be great.
