This little device fulfils most of the things I would want from a GPS handheld. Good battery life, clear and easy to read screen, reasonably intuitive menus and fairly inexpensive to purchase.

One small fly in the ointment however. The odometer which holds the sum of all the trip distances can only be reset to zero by performing a complete reset of the entire unit. This action will result in loss of all your personal settings and any data you forgot to back up. Not the end of the world but a bit inconvenient.

Also you may find spurious way-points being entered while the unit is in your pocket or your backpack every time the joystick presses against something hard-ish… Read more

Yes, it's a USB cable, but ......, 10 Nov 2011

The picture doesn't provide sufficient detail to identify the small connector. This is a standard USB cable (Type A to Mini-B).

Unfortunately my TomTom GO 500 requires a round connector so this cable will not be of the slightest use for this purpose. For the price it's not worth re-packaging and returning, so it just goes into my collection of standard USB cables.

Acer Aspire Timeline X 5830T 15.6 inch Notebook (Intel Core i7-2620M Processor, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, nVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, Windows 7 Home Premium) - Aluminium is very smart, tidy, very functional and very very fast.

Within minutes of switch on, after all the registration rigmarole that you have to go through these days, I burned some recovery DVD's. This will take up 4 disks for the system, apps, bloatware etc. and 1 more for the drivers and bits and bobs, so have 5 blank DVD's ready, and a spare hour or so.
