Somewhere to Hide (The Estate Book 1) by Mel Sherratt
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK, 30 Jun 2014
Full of twists and unexpected turns. The main characters are believable and draw the reader into the plot. I would recommend her books.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
4.0 out of 5 stars WELL WORTH READING, 30 Jun 2014
A Classic adventure. It is a dream that he lives in real life. It also illustrates the possibilities of friendships between black and white people are possible even in the times when racial discrimination was rampant.
The only carrot is avoiding the stick by Colin MacPherson
4.0 out of 5 stars A really good read., 21 Jun 2014
Although this is a work of "Fiction" I happen to have worked with the author and also worked in this "Fictional" hospital. I know that some people who deal with vulnerable people can take advantage of their power and abuse others, both staff and patients. The book highlights the fact that vigilance is necessary to prevent this happening and should be reported to senior management who should take action but often do not. The book highlights bad standards of care that is accepted due, not because of staff being bad but being institutionalised themselves.
A book that anyone dealing with vulnerable people should read.
