Hutchison's Clinical Methods (Hutchinson's Clinical Methods) by Michael Swash MD FRCP MRCPath Professor
This book is great, really explains the reasoning behind each examination and hopefully will help you improve those skills. I felt that in some (very few i hasten to add) areas it was lacking adequate explanation. But this can be easily overcome with a bit of extra reading. A good book for both doctors and nurse alike.
The Concise Gray's Anatomy (Wordsworth Reference) by C.H. Leonard

It is certainly a good book and it does what it intends to very well. But my main quibble with this book was over the need for it to exist at all. I personally never found Gray's Anatomy to be so unmanageable that i thought it needed something like this. However, I have not marked it down for this. If you want a quick reference for that most famous of anatomy text then this is a safe bet for you. Clear and well written. Fully recommended if this is what you want.

Fantastic book, well written. Personally I think it is a must have for budding medical personnel, surgical or not. A very good guide, now if only i could get my paws on volume 2.
