Becoming Queen by Kate Williams
Becoming Queen by Kate Williams
5.0 out of 5 stars Victoria!, 18 Aug 2014
Becoming Queen is a superb document of the little known early life of Queen Victoria and her cousin Princess Charlotte.
My thoughts are that Kate Williams has so thoroughly researched her subjest matter (see the wealth of notes) and that her style of writing is very descriptive. How many other books describe Lords, etc as 'Buffoonish' and 'gouty'.
As a medical professional, it makes me baulk to hear the medical practices of the time and very grateful that we no longer use them anymore! (bleeding, anyone?)
Its nice to get a brief outline, too of the reigns of George III, George IV and William IV.
Definitely recommended to anybody with an interest in our history!
Mr Muscle Oxy Stain Remover Fresh Scent by Mr Muscle
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having 3 cats fighting for supremacy does have its problems! The male cats like to spray to try to make their mark! The Mr. Muscle spray does a great job of removing any odours and so far, it seems to be stopping the cats trying to spray in that same area. Recommended!

John has got the essence of Busby and the players and all the scenes, which have been imagined feel very real. There are some particularly lovely scenes involving Busbys assistant, Jimmy Murphy and it is so easy to feel the pain of Wilf McGuinness, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and others as they see themselves being past their best and unable to stop the rot.
Everybody knows how the story ends but John Ludden… Read more
