There are many reviews saying that this card performs worse than SATA II controller -- this is not true, and here is the story telling how.
I have an older PC from Dell and wanted to use SATA III SSD disk, but the motherboard has only SATA II controller (3Mbps), but luckily it also has PCI Express version 2.0 which can support up to 5Mbps, so my hope was to get more than SATA II speeds (300MB/s).
I connected brand new OCZ Vertex 4 256G SSD (firmware rev.1.5), measured with palimpsest on Debian and on average got 404.9MB/s read and 351.6MB/s write with 0.1ms access time -- so here you go, even better than on ssdreview.com!
