Lying somewhere in between Travis and fellow Manchester artists the Doves, Longview (like Haven before them) relocated to Manchester to finalise and release this album, and it seems some of the scene's rock heritage has rubbed off on this excellent debut.
The opener "Further" is an excellent advert for and example of the quality on this album. The opening guitar recalls Travis - Writing To Reach You, while the vocals instantly bring to mind Jimi Goodwin of Manchester's Doves.
Mercury is a soothing relaxing album, take the chorus from "Electricity" or "I Would" as a prime example. Songs such as "Nowhere" and the almost anthemic "When You Sleep" with its catchy four-chord… Read more

Less than a year after their excellent "Comfort In Sound" album was released, Feeder have produced this 7-track album that sits somewhere in between a greatest hits album and a rarities collection.

Suffocate - From their first full-length album "Polythene",… Read more

So all the makings of a classic rock album? Not at all. "Pure Morning" is truly anthemic, and although you can't be quite sure what Brian is getting at here, the song is superb. However, no Placebo song has ever matched the unbelievable catchiness that is "Every Me Every You". To say it is a "love song" would be very harsh indeed, there is so much more to this. Not only is the melody… Read more
