Having enjoyed their previous effort, 'Rubber Soul', this new long player sees the former teen sensations develop their maturing sound further still.

The disc opens with the daringly satirical 'Taxman', which couldn't be further from the lovey-dovey songs we all sang/screamed along to on the Fabs' first few offerings. 'Eleanor Rigby', featuring that nice young Mr Paul McCartney backed by a string quartet, came as a real surprise; quite unlike anything I've heard from this group.

Paul has really come a long way as a songwriter, and this album demonstrates the fact superbly, with such delights as 'Here, There and Everywhere', 'For No One', and the cheerful poppy sound of… Read more

I'm listening to this album on a typically chilly February morning, and looking out of my window at the blue sky with this playing in the background, I could well imagine it's 90 degrees out there today.

This is my introduction to Jamaican calypso music, and it's a nice, pleasant change from the ska and reggae one would normally expect from the Trojan label. I would strongly recommend this album for a summer barbecue, beach party or, as I am doing right now, brightening up a winter's day.

I feel I ought to review this compilation, as some of the other reviews are, in my opinion, not accurate in their descriptions, and I think it's time things were cleared up a little.

Firstly, a number of people are giving this set a low rating because some of the tracks are "not the original versions". Now, what we actually have here, alongside a fine selection of original 70s disco tracks, is a handful of dance tracks which were made in the 1990s which SAMPLE hits made from an earlier time.
