I was one of the few FF fans to be a little let down by this one! Sure, the plot was adequate and a little bit of a departure for the series and the graphics were great, but I got the impression the developers at Square were all too busy making the most of the new capabilities of the hardware and forgot to add that all important Final Fantasy magic.
One of the things I adored about FFVII - FFIX were the fully explorable world maps. Raising Chocobos to get to distant treasures in VII or new Summons in VIII. These maps gave the game more freedom to explore and made the world feel more 'real' helping to immerse the player.

And thank god I did!
The first thing I will comment on is the storyline. This third dino game is far removed from previous versions as it is set on a vast space shuttle. Without giving too much away, the story pays homage to sci-fi classics such as Event Horizon and The Sphere and is hugely atmospheric, intresting and unpredictable. It also pulls at the… Read more
