Like many people I suspect, I bought this because of Sail but this track is not remotely representative of the rest of the album. To me, Awolnation are a band that can't decide what kind of band they want to be. It's really important to me that there is diversity in any good album, diversity of styles, light and shade, you name it but you still want to have that signature sound that ties everything together. When I heard Sail I loved it and bought the album expecting it to be dark, electronic and industrial. Actually, Sail turns out to stick out like a sore thumb. The rest of the album is some naff concoction of rock 'n' roll (in the elvis sense), boy band and pure pop/dance. Sometimes it… Read more

A brilliant album. I didn't think it was going to be possible to top the 1st one. All the influences are still there but the sound is maturing so to me they still end up sounding like nothing you have quite heard before. This 1st album only came out of the car when the second one was released. I never tire of listening to this band and I find something new in the songs each time I listen to them. Endlessly creative and full of real intelligence and craft. I cannot wait to hear more!

This band are fantastic live as well. Recent Cambridge Junction gig was simply amazing! Do not let this band pass you by!

Fantastic record. Can't wait to see this band live. Could it be that it sounds something like Yes meets It Bites meets Barenaked Ladies meets Coldplay meets A Certain Ratio. Doesn't sound possible does it and even less likely that this bizarre combination would sound good but it sounds bloody brilliant. Not sure at what point I will tire of this record but it aint going to be any time soon. Wouldn't put it firmly in the Prog bracket but it's certainly Prog influenced. No longer a dirty word! Go on, treat yourselves to something new. I want more already! Fantastic Job!
