1.0 out of 5 stars Load of rubbish, 22 Feb 2013
Really wanted to like this having read positive reviews, but I found it cliched and annoying. It's about a little boy who lives with his grandmother. Presumably we are supposed to feel sorry for him because he's cross-eyed as well as because his mum has skipped town with a lover. Tries very hard to charm, which in itself is a sure-fire recipe for failure

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the bible, 25 May 2012
It is perfectly feasible that in two thousand years from now people will use this book as the basis for a new religion. All that needs to happen is for someone to hide the evidence that it's a work of fiction. The story follows the life of Ben Zion Avrohom who is proclaimed as the Messiah due to his extraordinary powers of healing and enlightenment. The story is told in the words of several "disciples", real people in the 21st Century. Quite apart from being a fabulously entertaining read, The Final Testament is a uniquely powerful critique of the functions and values of religion.

Those who place special importance on inlays and artwork might be advised to look elsewhere as each of the five CDs has only a flimsy cardboard sleeve with no liner notes. But for those who value music above all else this set really is a godsend. I listen to all these albums in the car (except… Read more
