I had to buy a charger for two flat car batteries, but didn't want to pay too much for something I wouldn't use much. Found this and couldn't believe the price and bought it after reading the reviews, which were mainly positive.
The negative reviews mentioned dangerous temperatures, poor build quality and no indication if it was working, but you've got to remember how cheap it is!
Luckily I have a multimeter to check it was working, but if you don't then you're probably hoping for the best. However, the positive did spark when connecting, which is a sign. I also took both batteries out of the car because the charger should be used in dry sheltered conditions, plus charging the… Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad For The Price, 29 Aug 2013
I read the Amazon reviews before buying cheaper else where. Going by the reviews, I wasn't sure if it would be any good, but I could get a refund if not.
It's well made, small, light and doesn't leak through any joints.
8 settings is a lot and not all work that well, but I think this might be due to low water pressure. It's easy to tell if your pressure is low when the water doesn't reach the stated distance.
There's probably 4-5 settings that I find useful, which is better than only having one setting. I find the different settings useful for different areas of our garden, because not all of it needs watering.

First of all, I just need to point out that I've had a new lawn laid this year - it's flat, no weeds/moss and grows much quicker than what was down before, which was mainly weeds.
The lawns first cut was with a hover type Flymo, which was a disaster - the grass wasn't that long and even with the blades sharpened the cut was patchy.
I was debating between this Qualcast and an electric rotary Bosch with wheels. I chose the qualcast for its simplicity, scissor like cut and not having to faff about with a cable.
I used it for the first time today and I'm very pleased I bought it. Assembling the mower is fairly straight forward, though the instructions are very brief.
I set… Read more
