This book does a fair job of telling what is to me a familiar story, I'm a big comics and Kirby fan. However, the things I'm not familiar with I don't trust. I can't find any other way to read the biographical information on the first two pages other that it's saying Jack Kirby's younger brother David was over 6 foot tall when he was seven years old. This would be remarkable and perhaps would have informed Kirby's work, if it were true. Given that Ro is careless telling us the story of Funky Flashman (Barda does not lead the Female Furies to attack Funky and Houseroy, she helps save Houseroy) and invents a Marvel comic called 'Black Brother', you would be unwise to use it as a reference.
