Lonely Planet China (Travel Guide) by Lonely Planet
As always, the guide is wonderful (although, as usual, restaurants seem to have raised their prices upon receiving the LP seal of approval) but the format isn't really conducive to browsing. This is more to do with the platform than the guides themselves- kindles aren't really set up for flicking back and forth. As tempting as it is to try to have everything in one place, I think travel guides are much more effective in physical form and I will be buying them in the future. Also, actual books never run out of battery when you need to look at a map!

The quality of these speakers for the price you get is really pleasantly surprising. They are great laptop speakers and work perfectly well for music; although a music buff would probably find the quality lacking, I find them to work fine and you can get the volume up pretty high before you hear any distortion. They're small enough to travel with but bulky enough that you don't feel that a trip in a suitcase would snap them in half.
Just in case anyone doesn't realise, these speakers don't come with a stereo jack lead (the wire used to connect the speakers to an ipod, laptop etc.) but you can get one for about a pound ( look in the people also bought section)

Although I was worried that I wouldn't use all the colours (I'm very pale) I've found that I've been using the mid-range colours for precision contouring around my nose and lips and the darker shades as gel-like eyeliners and even as intense eyebrow fillers when doing fancy dress.
When first applied you get medium coverage which is easily built up and the staying power is impressive. With a good primer and… Read more
