3.0 out of 5 stars Gory Gory Gory!!!, 11 Feb 2003
Well I have to say I bought this film, not knowing it at all, simply cause Brad Pitt was in it! Well he didnt disappoint, but the film did slightly. Its odd that these characters ever get to go on the road, (as this is a road movie of sorts) as they are all so incompatible that it never really gels together somehow. It is also very Gory, and I felt overly at sometimes. And I can take my gore! Having said that its nice to see Brad Pitt doing something very different, showing he is a great actor, and its good to see David Duchovney doing anything different!

Well in my opinion this is the best one of all the next gen films, it offers alot for everyone, not just trek fans, as it has the old and the new in it, and everyone loved Kirk for one reason or another.
Patrick Stewart has about the biggest emotional range he has ever had in this film, and I can personally watch his scene with Troi in the first half of the film again and again, the acting is subtle and superb.
All the others make good, too, especially the old lads Scottie and Chekov.
If you ever thought that you liked Star Trek and wanna see some more, this is a great place to start. I recommend it.

Well Mr Lloyd Weber has done it again, nearly, this is a good CD and if you can bare to listen to Glen Close Warbling her way through the CD then go for it (aparently she was great on stage, but her singing voice alone leaves a little to be desired!) as the score of this musical is great. Unfortunately, as with alot of Lord Webers music, there is frequent use of the same tunes over and over, but far from this being an extremely critical review I have to say that the tunes he has written are great, the obvious ones are Norma Desmonds songs, 'With One Look' and 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' but as is often the way, there are moments of greatness in the most unlikely places.
