This is great stuff. Six discs containing just about everything they ever did. If you've never heard of them then try and imagine Beck, The Eels, Gomez getting together with Elliot Smith, Aimee Mann and Portishead and writing some decent tunes with a bit of (British) humour thrown in.
If you are familiar with them then you'll know that the first '3 Eps' set was really strong (Disc one here) followed by a slightly disappointing 'proper' album (Disc two) then 2 more really good albums (Disc three - Hot Shots II [my personal favourite] and Disc four - Heroes to Zeroes) This box set is rounded out by some live stuff and B-sides etc. What more could you want? All for under £16!

This album really doesn't do justice to either party. It is a shame as I was really looking forward to this collaboration.

Seriously - go and listen to the originals of Pills and Soap and Invasion Hit Parade. The dark drama and paranoia of the original versions is here replace… Read more

I've now watched all films - in their directors cut/ work print whatever version. Watched a lot of the documentaries on disc 5 some on disc 6... and I've loved every minute. Dan O'Bannon is worth the money on his own! The one film that has dated badly is the one that probably did the best box office on release - i.e. the second one (Aliens.) My girlfriend is easily scared but just laughed all the way through it. The third one is not as bad as it was thought when it came out and 4th is a hoot! Joss Whedon and the French director guy essentially doing what would now be a reboot of sorts.
I'm looking forward to going back and watching the theatrical versions. Listening to the… Read more
