Andrey Platonov is an author not widely reconised - unfortunately. I took a chance on this book and I was completely blown away by the articulate genius of Platonov's writing - this is an author that is dying to be discovered.
Soul is set in central Asia and is the story of Chagatev's - the hero of the book - journey from his homeland to Moscow and eventually back to his homeland once again. He has a utopian dream and mission to save his people and nation from being erradicated from this planet for eternity; Chagatev believes it is his duty and responsible to save them.
