Just a note in-case you weren't aware that this Blu-ray is region free.

Shame the Beeb couldn't have offered the UK (its primary market place) an HD version of this HD production from the outset but who knows what goes on in the boardroom of BBC Enterprises.

The DVD content is nice to have but I'm sure most of the people from over this side of the pond that would already have the Unearthly Child.

Anyhow, it looks and sounds great. It makes the HD copy I had on my Sky box look a bit over-compressed and soft by comparison. Then again, (compared to blu-ray) broadcast HD TV is second-rate it has to be said!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing quality, 12 April 2014
Network have done it again. This is just fantastic and follows their Sweeney and Space 1999 blu-ray restorations admirably. I just hope that they venture beyond "first seasons" (as they have done in each case so far) and give us more of this quality to re-live our favourite TV classics.

4.0 out of 5 stars Blu-ray notes, 12 April 2014
Just adding a note to say that this Olive Films blu-ray is region free. The image looks pin sharp, (I was able to read the print on an actors ID badge with ease). The film has been sympathetically mastered. Natural grain is present and minor speckles have been left alone which IMO is the best way to treat classic films.
