The book was has been written with the TV audience in mind and does not spoil their fun with spoilers or revelations that occur in the latter books (but have not been filmed and televised yet). It spells out some situations that are less clear on TV than they are in the books – and takes the trouble to spell out some issues that blatantly transparent. There are some other elements addressed about ‘Game of thrones’ such as the role of women in this universe and where some of the references and homages that colour the book come from, however, in all honesty it offers nothing that reading the original source material won’t provide. The Definitive Ambient Collection Vol.2 ~ Pete Namlook
4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting stuff..., 5 Feb 2012
Pete Namlock is prolific by anyone's standard and the `Definitive Ambient Collections' are a great way of taking a sample of his broad spectra of ambient work. It is a mixed bag and by no means perfect, but there are some great tracks (I suppose it all depends on what your flavour is). The other reviewer makes a valid comment that the tones are dominantly computer generated but I don't necessarily feel that this has to be a bad thing, and it is a perfect snapshot of the sounds circa 1991-93. If you can pick this up on the cheap, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if you like down-tempo/ ambient grooves; it certainly surpasses the `...collection 1'.

I watched the 505DB with a blue ray DVD player and I was flabbergasted. The quality of the image, it's speed and detail were really impressive. With this kind of ancillary the TV really delivers well beyond it's budget.
With regular DVD the picture is good and responds quickly, showing keen detail.
With a regular analogue input the picture is highly changeable (the quality of the signal is the issue here). Pictures can range from good to intolerable. HD inputs are naturally excellent, whilst poor quality transmissions… Read more
