I am a big fan of Simon Singh and his writings. For me, he manages to get the right balance between entertaining and interesting. If you are a fan of maths, The Simpsons or Futurama, then this book will not disappoint.

More about genius and people's perceptions as to what a genius is than about maths. Very little maths and what there is is explained very clearly. The book is about Simon Norton who when he was young (in his teens) was a truly spectacular mathematician. The final part of the book where the author tries to explain Simon's current position in the world of maths is well worth waiting for. Well worth a read.

Funny, sad and a must have. Judi Dench is just an absolutely fantastic actress and Steve Coogan also plays a very good part. They go together very well, believe it or not. Best film I have seen for ages as it has humour, sadness and even anger (I cannot comment on why without feeling that anger all over again). If you see one film this year, make it this one.
